The Cueva de las Lechuzas (Cave of the Owls) is an impressive natural cave located inside the Tingo María National Park, near the city of Tingo María. This limestone cave extends deep into the mountain and is home to many species of wildlife, including guácharos (oilbirds), bats, and nocturnal birds locally known as “lechuzas,” which gave the cave its name.
